Module 1: Key Risk Management Principles - Revised 2010
This general module provides you with practical strategies to minimise your risk of being sued. The principles apply to each context of care within which a MIPS member may work. It is also a quick and easy way of fulfilling your PSS risk management requirements and earning PD points!
Please note: You will need your MIPS member number to log in, and your PD number to earn points. You may wish to print out this page for reference when completing the module.

How do I complete the module?
Click the Online Module button, which will take you to ThinkGP's website. You will see a registration form in a new browser window:
- Username: Enter your MIPS member number (which is on your member card)
- Password: Choose a password you will remember
- Enter your details into the relevant fields.
- For Profession/Organisation, you have several options:
- If you wish to complete the module for PSS requirements only, select the Other Medical Practitioner option, and enter your MIPS member number in the field that appears below it.
- If you wish to claim PD points (and also fulfil PSS requirements if applicable):
- Click the Sign Up button and you will be taken through the exercises. Ensure that you fill in all boxes, and complete the evaluation at the end.
Once you complete the module, MIPS will email you a confirmation that your training has been added to your MIPS record, and that you have fulfilled your PSS requirements (if applicable).

You can claim 0.5 MOPS point per hour under 'CME Practice Related'.
